This article explores the linguistic phenomena of bilingualism and multilingualism, focusing on individuals' ability to communicate in two or more languages. It examines the cognitive, cultural, and social benefits, as well as the challenges associated with these abilities. The article also discusses the global significance of bilingualism and multilingualism, including the policies that support these practices. The role of bilingualism and multilingualism in personal development and societal progress, along with the challenges in maintaining and promoting these languages, is highlighted.
