Abstract

Insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome are among the most significant metabolic disorders affecting global public health. These conditions are closely associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, and various metabolic abnormalities. The present article examines contemporary concepts regarding the pathophysiological mechanisms, risk factors, diagnostic approaches, and treatment strategies related to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Particular attention is given to the role of insulin resistance as a central factor in the development of metabolic syndrome and its complications. The article also discusses current preventive measures, including lifestyle modification and pharmacological interventions aimed at improving metabolic health and reducing cardiovascular risk. The findings highlight the importance of early diagnosis, comprehensive management, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches in preventing disease progression and improving long-term health outcomes
