Abstract

This article explores the ongoing debate between grammar and communication in English language learning. It examines the importance of both elements in achieving proficiency in English, discussing how a solid understanding of grammar lays the foundation for accurate language use, while effective communication emphasizes fluency, interaction, and real-world application. The paper presents the argument that while grammar is essential for correctness, the ability to communicate confidently and clearly should be prioritized in language learning, especially for practical, everyday situations. Through this discussion, the article provides insight into the balance learners must strike between mastering grammar rules and focusing on communicative competence.
