Abstract

This article examines how English-origin words — Anglicisms — are absorbed and restructured by the phonological, morphological, and semantic systems of modern Uzbek. Over the past three decades, Uzbek has moved through successive waves of contact influence, first with Russian as an intermediary and, since the 2000s, increasingly with English as a direct source of borrowing driven by digital technology, higher education reform, and global media consumption.
