Abstract

English is adapting to regional influences, with "global Englishes" emerging, characterized by distinct local variations. In education, English is set to remain prominent, but multilingualism is becoming increasingly valued, suggesting a shift from English-only dominance. Additionally, the internet and social media are accelerating language changes, with informal, hybrid, and slang forms spreading rapidly.
