Abstract

This study investigated the bioaccumulation of chromium (Cr) and cobalt (Co) in the organs of fruit trees. The highest chromium accumulation among the studied fruit species was recorded in the leaves of the Champion peach cultivar, reaching 0.82 mg/kg, which is 8.18 times higher than the maximum permissible concentration (MPC). Chromium concentrations in the shoots, stones, and fruits were 0.50 mg/kg (4.98 times above the MPC), 0.41 mg/kg (4.09 times above the MPC), and 0.26 mg/kg (2.63 times above the MPC), respectively. It was also determined that, in both anthropogenically polluted and ecologically clean areas of the Tashkent region, chromium concentrations in the leaves and shoots of all studied fruit trees exceeded the MPC by up to eightfold, while its accumulation in the seeds exceeded the MPC by up to twofold. In contrast, cobalt accumulation in all investigated vegetative and generative organs of the fruit trees remained below the maximum permissible concentration (MPC).
