Abstract

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) has emerged as a widely recognized framework forpromoting equitable access to education and improving learning outcomes in inclusive classrooms. This study examines the impact of UDL implementation on the academic achievement andclassroom participation of students with disabilities in inclusive secondary schools. The researchaims to investigate how the integration of UDL principles, including multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression, influences students' academic performance and activeinvolvement in classroom activities. A quantitative research design was employed, involvingteachers and students from inclusive secondary schools. Data were collected through standardizedacademic assessments, classroom observation checklists, and student participation questionnaires. The findings indicate that the effective implementation of UDL strategies significantly enhancesstudents' academic achievement while increasing their engagement, collaboration, and confidenceduring classroom instruction. Furthermore, the study highlights the critical role of teacherpreparedness and instructional flexibility in maximizing the benefits of UDL. The results suggestthat adopting UDL as an instructional framework can foster a more inclusive learning environmentwhere students with diverse learning needs have equal opportunities to succeed academically and socially. The study provides practical implications for educators, school administrators, andpolicymakers seeking to strengthen inclusive education practices through evidence-basedinstructional approaches
