Abstract

This scientific paper examines the pharmacological properties, mechanisms of action, and clinical applications of anxiolytics, sedative agents, and drugs affecting M-cholinergic receptors. Anxiolytics, particularly benzodiazepines and related groups, were found to reduce anxiety and psycho-emotional tension by enhancing GABAergic transmission in the central nervous system. Sedative agents were analyzed in terms of their dose-dependent effects, hypnotic properties, and adverse reactions. The effects of M-cholinergic receptor antagonists on parasympathetic nervous system activity and their influence on various organ systems were also reviewed. The study is based on a critical analysis of contemporary pharmacological literature.
