Abstract
Modern translation studies increasingly views translation technologies as central to practice and research. This article examines the functional roles of translation tools – including computer-assisted translation software, translation memory databases, terminology management systems, and machine translation – in contemporary translation processes and translator education. It highlights how these technologies enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality, while giving rise to new professional practices like post-editing. The study also discusses the integration of technological competencies in translator training programs and addresses emerging challenges and ethical considerations in the digital age.
